Russia may then set up an ‘autonomous’ Ukrainian territory encompassing Donbass and Luhansk. Call it east Ukraine w.e to justify their annexation. Ukraine will enter NATO and EU eventually. Neither side is likely to make any more progress and both will eventually come to the table for a long term ceasefire due to the drain on people and resources.
